ART ANGELS
An Invitational Exhibition
For 135 years, the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) has been driven by the dedication of its volunteers. NAWA's mission to educate, empower, and showcase women artists has thrived thanks to these committed individuals. Each year, NAWA honors the women who have generously contributed their time to advance this mission. While many members provide their expertise, there are those who dedicate a significant portion of their time and energy. NAWA celebrates these exceptional volunteers, known as Art Angels.
I am honored to have been invited to be part of this Exhibition .

Why We Volunteer
The Driving Force behind The National Association of Women Artists, Florida Chapter
March 2022
Biennes Gallery @ ArtServe
1350 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale
FLORIDA
Exhibition Statement: “Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.” (quote by Elizabeth Andrew)
The National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) is the oldest Women’s Art Association in America. And it is a triumph of volunteerism. It was created with the purpose to foster public awareness of, and interest in, visual art created by women in the United States. It encourages contemporary and emerging artists, as well as honors and continues the long and important contribution of women to the history of American culture and art. Founded in 1995, the Florida Chapter extends the mission of the National Association by providing highly visible Florida venues, designing art education opportunities for its members and promoting art education to Florida communities.
This exhibit showcases the heart of NAWA Florida Chapter…the 2020-22 Board Members... who have given of themselves to further the purpose of NAWA: To promote culture and education in the visual arts, including exhibitions of its members’ works, educational programs, scholarships, awards, and its historical archive.
Why do we volunteer for NAWA & NAWAFL? Because….even though as individuals we have our unique artistic styles…. It is in volunteering our unique strengths (contributing in any way we can to our organization) that we have joined a long history & wonderful tradition of NAWA Board Members who are dedicated to enriching the art world with Women in the Arts.
